Day 19 – Rock of The Rock

I was inspired, architecturally by a couple of 100 Days artists, one of which is here (I can’t find the name).

This is a noir view of Hallgrímskirkja Lutheran Church in downtown Reykjavik.  It is 244 ft tall and the largest church and sixth tallest architectural structure in Iceland.  The architect, Guðjón Samúelsson designed it to resemble Iceland’s basalt lava flows.

wow, very brooding! It was under scaffolding when I was there unfortunately…

Gorgeous, particularly in B&W since it captures the haunting mood of this overwhelming building.

  4. Very powerful, it kind of reminds me of the world the main character and his girlfriend created in their dreams in Inception. I know that movie was kind of hokey but the visuals were mostly stunning and I mean the comparison as a complement! This blog makes me want to go to Iceland, your photographs are so beautiful!
