Our first night in Iceland, we saw what we came to see: the aurora borealis. It danced from the horizon, across the sky and over our heads. A lovely emerald green mystery. The movement in Carianne Mack Garside’s watercolor, watching the sky – day 4 detail inspired me to choose this image.
Except for the waves of the bay and wind, the sky was silent. Not something I’d expect from a phenomenon so spectacular in its beauty and intrigue.
